When cargo-hauling capacity is at a premium in your search for the right electric bike, Bunch Bikes may have the answer. A Bunch bike is really an e-tricycle, as they all have a large cargo box upfront over two front wheels, while the rider sits toward the back over the standard single back wheel.

Founded by bike lovers who discovered the joy of bicycle culture that is pervasive in Scandanavian culture, Bunch bikes aren’t cheap. Among the competitive marketplace for e-bikes that has seen other companies push the base-level price point for quality equipment down below $2,000 or less, a cargo bike from Bunch will set you back more than twice that amount. Among the four models available, prices range from about five to six thousand dollars each.

The company launched with a 2017 appearance on the popular TV show, Shark Tank. They came away from their appearance on the show with a financing deal and plenty of good national exposure to fuel their growth.

Bunch models all feature the same basic pattern of a three-wheeled electric bike powered by a 500-Watt motor with a huge cargo box upfront. Options are available for a dog-centric model, as well as one that boasts extra seats for a group of small children, perfect for a daycare center or family with a half dozen small children to transport in style.
