Like a lot of the new companies on the red-hot electric bike market, Zooz Bike Company started with a group of friends with diverse skills and interests who came together around a shared passion for e-bike perfection. They had a team made up of a product designer, a fabricator who loves to create product shape and design, an operations wiz, and a manufacturing genius, they set out to create something on two wheels, aiming for a place between the bicycle and the motorcycle.
Starting in Chicago with a small shop and a dream, they created the Zooz Urban Ultralight. Through a long series of feedback loops with riders and customers, they discovered ways to improve the product and the delivery. They’ve improved and streamlined the supply chain, tested the components, and applied the user feedback to get to the improved model available today.
Relying on the popular direct-to-consumer model that the e-bike industry seems to thrive on, Zooz takes orders on its website and ships bikes out, just about ready to ride when they arrive at the customer’s doorstep. They’ve got a vision for the future of e-bikes, and the Urban Ultralight e-bike is a start toward their dream.
